How to register and maintain your online account
What you'll need before you start
Decide upon a preferred login username
You can choose any name including at symbol, spaces underscores, full stop and
upper and lowercase characters. It's good practice to use your e-mail address as
your username to avoid conflicts with other user accounts with the same name. If
your preferred username is already taken, be prepared to choose an alternative.
Choose a password
The password has to be a minimum length of six characters, and can be comprised
of any combination of characters in up or lowercase, or symbols. A password of
at least eight characters, with at least one upper case letter and one number is
recommended.
Decide upon a security question and answer
Think of a question that you know the answer to. For example "what is my
favourite colour", "my closest pub" or "my first pet name". Consider how easy it
might be to guess the answer and avoid obvious questions that anyone might know
the answer to such as "In what year was the Battle of Hastings fought?"
Make a note of your registration details
Your login information is not accessible by us, and only you will know or be able to reset your password. If you forget your password in the future you will be asked for your username and your memorable password exactly as you have typed it into the registration page. The answers are case sensitive so "Boris" is not the same as "boris"
E-mail address
The e-mail address that you provide must be unique. You will not be able to register twice on the website using the same e-mail address. In the event that you need to reset your password, an e-mail will be sent to the registered e-mail address containing a new password with which you can gain access to the site. If you no longer have access to the e-mail account that you have registered with you will not be able to reset your password or login with your account in future.
You can change your registered e-mail address at any time by updating your
personal profile information, details of which are briefly discussed below.
Logging in
The username and password that you create when registering on this site should be used to log in. Your login credentials are cached so that you will not be asked to login unnecessarily. If you are working on a shared computer it is advisable that, when you have finished your session, you manually log out in order to prevent other users from using your account.
