With the integration active, whenever an audit element fails in TopCat a corrective task can be instantly and automatically logged in CARPS. For example:
Helen is carrying out a Fire Safety audit of Corridor 1A using TopCat and discovers that a fire alarm is not working. She fails this element in her audit and adds notes as usual. TopCat automatically logs a corrective task in CARPS, requesting a technician to come to Corridor 1A and repair the faulty fire alarm.
This saves time and improves the accuracy of the response, as Helen does not need to call a help desk to get them to log the task or remember to do so later. It also creates a seamless audit trail in the process, demonstrating that corrective action is being initiated as soon as a fault or non-compliance is discovered.
Our clients are delighted with the benefits offered by this integration and especially the implications for their PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) work. While the integration does not constitute a full CAFM system, it offers some of the core benefits for maintenance at a small fraction of the cost.
